Low Shrinkage Isophthalic Resins for Hand Layup and Spray Applications
Palatal A400TV-957S based assemblies offer excellent dimensional stability and low fiber printing.
mileage
- Low shrinkage.
- Excellent non-stick properties.
- Good heat resistance
- Good hydrolysis resistance
- CCS Class 1 Resin Certification
Chemical/Physical Properties
Palatal?A 400TV-957 S is a pre-promoted, thixotropic unsaturated polyester resin on the basis of isophthalic acid and standard diols dissolved in styrene. The resin has low viscosity and medium reactivity. A color change system has been introduced.
appliance
Palatal? A 400 TV-957 S is ideally suited for hand lay-up and spraying techniques. It impregnates the reinforcement easily during lay-up and does not lose from the inclined laminate. It is specialized for hulls, decks, tanks, pipes, etc. of ships in contact with water. It has low exotherm, low shrinkage and good non-stick properties. Palatal? A 400 TV-957S has good mechanical properties and high HDT. Palatal? A 400 TV-957 has been recognized by China Classification Society (CCS) as a Class 1 resin for shipbuilding.

Curing conditions: Cure by adding 1.5 g of Butanox M50 to 100 g of resin. After 24 hours at room temperature, the resin is then post-treated and cured at 80°C for 24 hours.
Processing Guide
- MEKP is recommended as curing agent. The dosage is 1%~2.5%. Users can adjust the dosage according to the ambient temperature and process time.
- The laminate has good non-stick properties. Once secondary lamination is required, we recommend sanding prior to secondary processing.
- Thixotropic resin. We recommend gentle stirring before use.
Application Guide
Room temperature cured products should be post cured for optimum performance. The product should be allowed to cure at room temperature for 24 hours prior to post-curing. Prior to assembly, if drilling, it is best to leave the product at room temperature for 24-48 hours.
