Trigonox C, tert.Butylperoxybenzoate, is an aromatic peroxide ester for the high temperature curing of unsaturated polyester resins.Trigonox C is preferably used for hot compression molding of unsaturated polyester resins (SMC, BMC, etc.) in the range of 120-170°C.Trigonox C can also be used in combination with highly reactive peroxides as co-promoters like Perkadox 16 or Trigonox HMa for pultrusion processes in the range of 100-150°C.CAS No. 614-45-9, EINECS/ELINCS No. 210-382-2. Trigonox HMa for pultrusion in the range of 100-150°C. CAS No. 614-45-9, EINECS/ELINCS No. 210-382-2, molecular weight 194.2 as listed on the TSCA status list, reactive oxygen content peroxide 8.24%.

Thermal stability Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances and are subject to self-accelerating decomposition. The Self-Accelerated Decomposition Temperature (SADT) is the lowest temperature at which a substance is likely to undergo self-accelerated decomposition in the packaging in which it is to be transported, and is determined on the basis of a thermal accumulation storage test.
- SADT: 60°C (140°F)
Storage Due to the relative instability of organic peroxides, there is a certain loss of mass with the passage of time. In order to minimize the loss of mass, Nouryon recommends a maximum storage temperature (Maximum Storage Temperature) for each organic peroxide.
- Maximum temperature: 77°F (25°C)
- Minimum temperature: 50°F (10°C)
Caution To prevent crystallization. When stored under the recommended conditions, Trigonox C will remain within the Nouryon product specification for at least 3 months after delivery.
PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTATION Standard packaging is 30 liter HDPE drums (Nourytainer) containing 25 kg of peroxide product. Packaging and transportation comply with international regulations. For availability of other quantitative packaging, please contact your Nourytainer sales representative. Trigonox C is an organic peroxide of class C; liquid, grade 5.2; UN3103.
SAFETY AND HANDLING Keep container tightly closed. Store and handle Trigonox C in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat or ignition sources and out of direct sunlight. Weighing and dispensing in the storage room is prohibited. Avoid contact with reducing agents (e.g. amines), acids, bases and heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerants, desiccants and metal soaps). Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for more information on safe storage, use and handling of Trigonox C. The relevant safety information on the SDS should be read through carefully before accepting this product.
Main decomposition products Carbon dioxide, acetone, methane, tert-butanol, benzoic acid, benzene
