Trigonox? 44B is a fast curing acetyl acetone peroxide for use with standard unsaturated polyester resins as well as ISO and ISO/NPG resins to achieve faster curing than Butanox M-50, including the vanishing red (VR) indicator system.

Trigonox? 44B is an acetylacetone peroxide formulation for curing unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of cobalt accelerators at room and elevated temperatures. Curing systems using Trigonox? 44B/cobalt accelerator achieve faster curing speeds at room temperature and elevated temperatures than curing systems based on MEKP plus cobalt accelerator. Typically, gel times with Trigonox? 44B are comparable to those with Butanox M-50. Trigonox? 44B is particularly suitable for applications requiring fast mold changes, such as cold press molding or resin injection molding technology. The system Trigonox? 44B/Cobalt accelerator will produce a higher peak exotherm than the standard MEKP/Cobalt accelerator system. Due to this fact, is it advisable to avoid producing too thick laminates in one operation. At low temperatures, reasonable curing speeds can still be achieved when Trigonox? 44B is used in combination with large quantities of cobalt accelerator (possibly with N,N Dimethylaniline as accelerator).
