Application Areas Trigonox 145-45B-PD is a difunctional peroxide for crosslinking of natural and synthetic rubbers and polyolefins. Safe handling temperature: 145°C (rheometer ts2 > 20 minutes). Typical crosslinking temperature: 185°C (rheometer t90 approx. 12 minutes).
thermal stability Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances and may undergo self-accelerating decomposition. The lowest temperature at which a substance may undergo self-accelerated decomposition in its original packaging is referred to as the Self-Accelerated Decomposition Temperature (SADT), which is determined on the basis of a heat accumulation storage test.
- SADT: 70°C (158°F)
save Due to the relative instability of organic peroxides, mass loss may occur over time. To minimize mass loss, Nouryon recommends a maximum storage temperature of Ts Max. 30°C (86°F).
- NOTE: By following these recommended storage conditions, Trigonox 145-45B-PD will remain in compliance with Nouryon's specifications for at least 6 months after delivery.
Packaging and transportation In North America, Trigonox 145-45B-PD is packaged in non-returnable polyethylene-lined cardboard boxes with a net weight of 40 pounds per box. In other regions, standard packaging is 15 kg per carton of peroxide formulation in cardboard boxes. Packaging and shipping are in accordance with international regulations. Consult your Nouryon representative for availability of other packaging quantities.
- Trigonox 145-45B-PD is classified as an organic peroxide, type D; solid, category 5.2; UN3106.
Security and handling Keep container tightly closed. Store and handle Trigonox 145-45B-PD in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat or ignition sources and direct sunlight. Do not weigh in the storage room. Avoid contact with reducing agents (e.g., amines), acids, bases, and heavy metal compounds (e.g., accelerators, desiccants, and metal soaps). Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for more information on the safe storage, use and handling of Trigonox 145-45B-PD.
