Product Description:
- The product is a 75% solution of 1,1-tert-butylperoxy-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane, which is desensitized using a high-boiling aliphatic hydrocarbon.
- The products are used as initiators for the polymerization of monomers (e.g. styrene) and for the curing and polymerization of unsaturated polyester resins.
Technical data:
- Appearance: colorless liquid.
- Peroxide content: approximately 75%.
- Active oxygen content: approximately 7.941 TP3T.
- Desensitizer: High boiling point aliphatic hydrocarbon.
- Density: approx. 0.88 g/cm3.
- Viscosity: approx. 8 mPa-s.
- Refractive index: about 1.435.
- Critical temperature (SADT): approx. 60°C.
Areas of application:
- Initiator for the high-pressure polymerization of ethylene in the temperature range of 200-250°C.
- Polymerization initiator for styrene in the temperature range of 100-140°C.
- It can also be used for the polymerization of other monomers such as vinyl acetate and (meth)acrylate.
Packaging:
- The product is usually shipped in 25 liter HDPE drums.
Storage:
- Recommended storage temperature is below 30°C.

- The product is a highly hazardous chemical and needs to be stored and handled in accordance with the requirements in the Safety Data Sheet.
