Applications:
- Vinyl: initiator for polymerization of vinyl under high pressure conditions, in combination with other peroxides of different activity. Temperature range: 200-250°C. Has liquid properties and is insensitive to other components of the polymerization process, even at low temperatures and high pressures.
- Styrene: initiator for mass or suspension polymerization of styrene. Temperature range: 100-140°C. Suggested dosage: 0.02-0.11 TP3T as supplied. Characterized by reduced residual monomer content, non-reactivity with chain modifiers (e.g. mercaptans) and non-hydrolysis in alkaline media. Recommended for use in combination with more reactive peroxides such as benzoyl peroxide or tert-butyl-2-ethylhexanoate.
- Other monomers: Initiator for the polymerization of vinyl acetate and (meth)acrylate. Temperature range: 90-130°C. Suggested dosage: 0.05-1% as supplied. Additional information on initiators suitable for the polymerization of monomers can be found in the relevant application manuals.
