- Polyester Cure: Curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins. Temperature range: 80-150°C. Dosage: 1-2% as supplied. Shelf life (gel time of the resin and peroxide) can be several weeks at room temperature, depending on resin type, fillers and pigments.
Curing Properties
- In the range of 70-80°C ("on" temperature), the curing speed is not very high, unless there is an exothermic reaction (e.g. in an insulated mold). Really short curing times of a few minutes can only be achieved above 100°C. The optimum temperature range for wet compression molding is 120 - 150°C.
Processing method
- Mainly used for sheet molding (SMC) or block molding (BMC).
