DCP are processed at temperatures up to 250°F (121°C) and can cure at temperatures above 300°F (149°C). DiCup? R/Luperox? DCP is also used in the polymerization of EPS, as a finishing agent and as a synergist in flame retardant EPS applications.

We offer azo initiators such as Perkadox? AIBN (azobisisobutyronitrile) and Perkadox? AMBN (2-methylbutyronitrile) for use in the propriety polymerization, solution polymerization, suspension polymerization and emulsion polymerization of a variety of monomers (e.g., styrene, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, acrylonitrile, acrylates), and for the polymerization of methacrylates. Our most commonly used initiator is AIBN, but our AMBN offers better solubility than AIBN. Advantages of AIBN initiators: Azo initiators offer many advantages over standard organic peroxides, such as they do not form oxidation by-products and offer low yellow discoloration. Azo initiators produce only C-centered radicals, which are low energy, highly selective and low branched. This provides low polydispersity index (PDI) values and molecular weights. Perkadox? AIBN does not form oxidizing residues and does not lead to oxidative degradation of the pigments in the dyed polymer system. For this reason, color stability or transparent dye polymers, such as polymethyl methacrylate, is improved. AIBN and other azo initiators provide excellent color stability in transparent dyed polymers such as PMMA. They do not form oxidizing residues or cause oxidative degradation of the coloring or dyeing system. In contrast to organic peroxides, azo initiators avoid over-grafting, making them particularly suitable for the manufacture of acrylic cast and molded sheets, as well as adhesives, acrylic fibers, superabsorbents, detergents and flocculants. Our most commonly used initiator is AIBN, but our AMBN offers better solubility than AIBN. Perkadox? AIBN is also used in pharmaceutical and fine organic synthesis. Our Trigonox 421 offers similar technical performance and is a sustainable alternative to AIBN. Another advantage of Trigonox 421 is that all decomposition products produced are non-toxic, in contrast to AIBN, which forms toxic TMSN.
