Product Description::
- NOROX? PD-40 FRED is a red liquid containing acetylacetone peroxide with reduced sensitization by means of an acetone diol coolant.
- The peroxide is suitable for use as a free radical initiator for curing unsaturated polyester resins.
- Primary application: In combination with a cobalt catalyst for curing thin-walled molded parts at room temperature.

- Density (20°C): approx. 1.1 g/cm3
- Viscosity (20°C): approx. 37 mPa-s
- Can be mixed with alcohols and phthalates
- SADT: approx. 60°C
- Recommended storage temperature: 10°C to 25°C
- Storage stability after delivery date: 6 months
appliance::
- Used to cure unsaturated polyester resins in combination with cobalt catalysts at room temperature.
- Storage time (resin + peroxide gel time) is usually only a few hours, depending on temperature and resin type.
- The conventional working time (gel time for resin + peroxide + catalyst) is relatively short, but can be extended by the addition of an inhibitor (e.g. TC-510 inhibitor).
- The initiator introduces intense heat into the curing system, which reduces demolding time.
- Even at temperatures below 20°C, curing remains relatively fast, especially in combination with Accelerator CA-12.
- Some fillers, pigments or stabilizers may interfere with or completely prevent curing.
- This product is not applicable to vinyl.
Treatment::
- Can be used in a variety of processes including hand lamination, spray lamination, vacuum and injection molding (RTM), wet compression molding, centrifugal casting (pipes), and continuous impregnation (corrugated sheets).
save::
- Avoid heat, light, humidity and protect the product from impurities.
- Stay within the safe temperature range.
