Product Description:
- NOROX? MCP-75 is a solution of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and isopropyl phenyl hydroperoxide.
- Liquid polymerization initiator specially designed for curing unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins at room temperature.
- Features low exothermic peaks, longer gel times, excellent final cure and avoids in-plant mixing of peroxides.
- Has very low levels of impurities including water, hydrogen peroxide and butanone.
Typical Characteristics:
- Active Oxygen: 9.0%, max.
- Form: Liquid
- Color: light yellow
- Specific gravity: 1.10 (25°C)
- Flash Point (SETA C.C.): 150°F (66°C), min.
- Soluble in oxidizing organic solvents, slightly soluble in water
- Storage temperature: <80°F
Areas of application:
- NOROX? MCP-75 is suitable for curing unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins with reduced exothermic peaks during curing.
- Suitable for marine laminated resin (pre-treated), etc.
- Gel times are slightly longer than standard NOROX MEKP products, but the final cure is usually better.
Storage and processing:
- Recommended storage temperature is below 80°F, optimal storage temperature is below 70°F.
- Store away from combustibles, heat, sparks and ignition sources, and away from direct sunlight.
- Leaking containers should be dealt with quickly and should not be stored in refrigerators.
- Check date of manufacture before use, keep away from heat, fire and sparks, avoid inhaling vapors, dilution is not recommended.
- Avoid contact with contaminants and avoid contact with incompatible materials.
First aid measures:
- EYE CONTACT: wash immediately with plenty of water, medical attention required.
- Skin contact: wash with soap and water.
- INGESTION: Drink large amounts of milk or water and seek immediate medical attention.
Spills and fires:
- Spills should be immediately absorbed, packaged and disposed of.
- Peroxides may burn or decompose dangerously in the event of a spill.
- Peroxides will ignite and use water to extinguish the fire, or carbon dioxide, foam, or dry powder can be used to extinguish the fire.
- Sources of ignition close to storage areas should be cooled by spraying with water.
Packaging and transportation:
- Standard package sizes: 4x8 lb. containers, 4x4kg polyethylene bottles, 40 lb. or 20kg Hedpack.
- Supplied through a national distribution network.
