Product Description:
- NOROX? KPM is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid consisting of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and acetyl ethyl ketone peroxide modified with dimethyl phthalate.
- Main applications: For curing unsaturated polyester resins with cobalt accelerators at 20 - 40 °C. Particularly suitable for curing molded polyester parts at room temperature.
Technical data:
- Appearance: yellowish transparent liquid
- Desensitizer: Dimethyl phthalate
- Active Oxygen (AO): Minimum 7.7% w/w
- Density (20 °C): approx. 1.13 g/cm3
- Viscosity (20 °C): approx. 28 mPa ? s
- Flash Point: > 65°C
- Solubility: insoluble in water, soluble in o-phenylene ester
- Critical temperature (SADT): approx. 60 °C
- Recommended storage temperature: 0 - 25 °C
- Storage stability from date of delivery: 3 months
- Standard packaging: 5 kg and 25 kg HDPE cans
Applications:
- Special cold curing agents for curing unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature, used with cobalt accelerators.
- Small amounts of inhibitors can be used to increase gel time, but high doses of inhibitors are usually not suitable because they decrease peroxide reactivity.
- Gel time is similar to NOROX? KP-9, but cures significantly faster. Can be used as an alternative to NOROX? PD-40 to avoid cracking or residual stress problems caused by high peak temperatures.
- Not recommended for heat curing systems, nor for vinyl.
Storage:
- Avoid heat, light, and humidity to protect the product from impurities and keep it within a safe temperature range.
