Description: NOROX? KP-9 FRED is a red colored flowable liquid consisting of a peroxide based on methyl ethyl ketone, which is basically inhibited using phthalate plasticizers. This ketone peroxide is used as an initiator (free radical source) for curing unsaturated polyester resins. The main application is for curing glass fiber reinforced products at room temperature in combination with cobalt accelerators. This red tinted version helps control uniform mixing and is subject to discoloration during the curing process.

Applications: NOROX? KP-9 FRED is a general-purpose MEKP and the workhorse of the United Initiators range. It exhibits consistent properties with resins and gelatins at room temperature.NOROX? KP-9 FRED is an extremely pure and reliable product that is suitable for almost every system. It is suitable for hand lay-up, spraying, RTM, continuous lamination, centrifugal casting, fiber winding, polyester concrete and vacuum impregnation. However, each MEKP initiator formulation will not provide optimum results in all resin systems. It is absolutely essential to evaluate the performance of each MEKP initiator in each resin it is intended to be used in before attempting full-scale production.
Attention:
- NOROX? KP-9 FRED is not recommended for use in heat curing systems and is not suitable for use with vinyl ester resins.
- Store away from heat, light and humidity and protect the product from impurities.
- Product standard package specification: 5kg and 25kg HDPE cans.
