Product Description:
- Product Name: NOROX? ENP-92
- Chemical composition: methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP)
- Appearance: Colorless, flowable liquid containing a ketone peroxide based on methyl ethyl ketone, desensitized by fatty esters. This ketone peroxide is used as an initiator (free radical source) in the curing of unsaturated polyester resins.
- Main application: at room temperature with a small amount of cobalt accelerator for casting buttons or when centrifugally casting button plates.
Technical data:
- Active Oxygen Content: Approx. 9.91 TP3T (mass fraction)
- Desensitizer: Fatty ester
- Density (20°C): approx. 1.04 g/cm3
- Viscosity at 20°C: approx. 21 mPa-s
- Insoluble in water, miscible with esters, soluble in unsaturated polyester resins (UP/VE).
- SADT: approx. 60°C
- Recommended storage temperature: below 30°C
- Period of activity at 30°C is 6 months from the date of delivery.
Areas of application:
- Used as a room temperature curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, usually in conjunction with cobalt accelerators.
- Standard Dose Level: 1-31 TP3T as supplied, used with 11 TP3T of cobalt solution 0.2-21 TP3T.
- The "shelf life" (gel time of the resin + peroxide) is usually only a few hours, depending on temperature and resin type.
- The "holding period" (gel time of resin + peroxide + accelerator) is very short, even with a small amount of accelerator.
Packaging:
- Standard package size: 5 kg and 22.5 kg polyethylene bottles.
