Product Overview::
- NOROX? 410 is a colorless, flowable liquid composed primarily of tert-butyl peroxy-2-ethylhexanoate.
- This product is a branched chain fatty peroxy ester used as an initiator for unsaturated polyester resins at 70-150°C, possibly in combination with cobalt accelerators.
Technical data::
- Appearance: colorless liquid.
- Peroxide content: approximately 99%.
- Active Oxygen Content: approximately 7.321 TP3T.
- Antisensitizer: none.
- Density (20°C): approx. 0.90 g/cm3.
- Viscosity (20°C): approx. 4 mPa-s.
- Refractive index (20°C): approx. 1.428.
- Cool storage stability: down to -25°C.
- Starting temperature: approx. 70°C.
- Recommended storage temperature: 10°C max.
- Maintenance of activity: 3 months.
appliance::
- Curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, possibly used with cobalt accelerators.
- Temperature range: 70-150°C.
- SUPPLY USE LEVEL: 1-2% as a supply may be used with 0.5-1% of Accelerator C-101.
- The "shelf life" (gel time of the resin + peroxide) is several weeks at room temperature, depending on the resin type, filler and pigment.
- The "stirring time" (gel time of resin + peroxide + accelerator) is up to several days, depending on the temperature and peroxide level. The shelf life or mixing time can be considerably extended by adding Inhibitor BC 500 with 0.1-0.3%.
Characterization and treatment::
- In the range of 65-75°C ("starting temperature"), the curing speed is not high, unless there is a reactive exothermic phenomenon (e.g. in an insulated mold). Only in the optimum temperature range of 110-130°C can short curing times of a few minutes be achieved.
- The main processing methods include continuous impregnation (paper laminates), hygrothermal compression molding, surface coating with wood paints, and electric insulating varnishes using infrared heating.
wrap::
- NOROX 410 comes in a standard package of 25 kg.
