Vinyl mold gel coat
Neogel? 8393-W-XXXX mold gelcoat is specially designed for the manufacture of FRP molds. It is especially used when high productivity is required and to increase mold turnover by heating, and is also suitable for FRP products that require high mechanical properties and corrosion protection.
Characteristic performance
Neogel? 8393-W-XXXX is a vinyl mold gel coat. It has excellent overall properties, easy handling, high gloss, high hardness, excellent mechanical properties and outstanding styrene resistance at high temperatures.
Usage characteristics
Neogel? 8393-W-XXXX is a pre-promoted, thixotropic gelcoat. Available in black, orange and gray.
Neogel? 8393-W-XXXX has excellent spray performance and can be operated with conventional equipment:
- For compressed air guns, a nozzle diameter of 2.5-3.5 mm and a spray pressure of 4-5 atmospheres are required.
- For non-air guns, the recommended nozzle type is 19/40 or 17/40 at 3.5-4 atmospheres.
In order to obtain the best results, we recommend that our customers ensure the following construction conditions:
- Stir each pail of gelcoat slowly and thoroughly before use to avoid air bubbles brought in by high-speed shearing.
- Gelcoat use at 18°C to 25°C
- Relative humidity below 75%
- Use MEKP* curing agent solution at a concentration of 501 TP3T at a dosage of 1.51 TP3T - 2.01 TP3T.
- Wet film thickness of not less than 600-800um, sprayed in two coats, the first wet film in the 300-400um, and so fully cured and then the second operation, the thickness of 400um.
- In order to extend the service life of the mold, the mold needs to be post-cured before use.
