descriptive
- CUROX? SOLAR SC is a colorless flowable liquid consisting primarily of technically pure 2,5-bis(tert-butylperoxy)hexane.
- Used as an initiator (source of free radicals) for crosslinking of polymers (especially EVA), widely used in photovoltaic applications.

- Half-life: 10 hours/1 hour/1 minute (0.1 m/benzene): 120/142/190°C
appliance
- Peroxide crosslinker for a wide range of polymers, especially for ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA), polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE), ethylene/propylene/(diene) rubbers (EPM, EPDM), silicone rubbers (VMQ) and fluoroelastomers.
- Crosslinking temperature: above 160°C, below 130°C no premature crosslinking occurs.
- Recommended dosage: 0.5-31 TP3T w/w supply depending on the material to be crosslinked. For some inactive polymers, the crosslinking efficiency can be improved by adding a 0.5-11 TP3T w/w synergist (e.g. TAC or EDMA).
EVA crosslinking
- CUROX? SOLAR SC can be premixed with EVA or added directly to a mixer or extruder suitable for thermoplastic materials.
- Special encapsulated EVA types suitable for low softening temperatures (below 100°C) due to their sufficient thermal stability during extrusion.
- The end product (encapsulated sheet) has long-term stability under ambient conditions, ensuring consistency in compound quality over time.
- Vacuum lamination and cross-linking is usually carried out at approx. 145°C, but CUROX? SOLAR SC requires higher cross-linking temperatures and it is recommended to use cross-linking temperatures higher than 160°C or to carry out a second baking.
