Product Description:
- CUROX? A-300 R is a red liquid containing acetone peroxide, permeated with diacetone alcohol.
- This ketone peroxide is suitable as a free radical initiator for curing unsaturated polyester resins.
- The main area of application is the curing of thin-walled molded parts at room temperature in combination with cobalt accelerators.
- Characteristics: Due to the bright red color of the peroxide, its uniform distribution in the resin system can be easily checked. The red color disappears during the curing process.
Technical data:
- Appearance: red liquid

- Active Oxygen (AO): approximately 4.11 TP3T (mass %)
- Density (20°C): approx. 1.1 g/cm3
- Viscosity (20°C): approx. 37 mPa-s
- Solubility: miscible with alcohols and phthalates
- SADT: approx. 60°C
- Low temperature storage stability: can crystallize below 10°C
- Recommended storage temperature: 10°C to 25°C
- Storage stability after delivery date: 6 months
Applications:
- For the curing of unsaturated polyester resins such as n-acrylic and iso-acrylic resins in combination with cobalt accelerators.
- The "storage time" of resin + peroxide is usually only a few hours, depending on the temperature and type of resin.
- The "mixing time" (gel time of resin + peroxide + accelerator) is relatively short, but can be extended by adding an inhibitor (e.g. Inhibitor TC-510).
- This initiator introduces a lot of heat, which results in a short release time and a good release.
- Even at temperatures below 20°C, curing remains relatively rapid, especially when combined with Accelerator CA-12.
- Some fillers, pigmented pigments or stabilizers may interfere with curing or prevent curing altogether.
- This product is not applicable to vinyl.
Storage:
- Avoid any heat, light and humidity and protect the product from impurities.
- Stay within the safe temperature range.
