Product Description.
- BENOX? L-40LV is a low viscosity, sprayable dibenzoyl peroxide dispersion.
- Designed primarily to "cure" unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, it offers several advantages:
- low water content
- Faster gel-to-peak time than MEKP systems
- Lower exothermic effect than MEKP systems
- Less "packaging" in spray equipment used to apply dibenzoyl peroxide dispersions
- More stable and less separation than common BPO dispersions on the market
- Less viscosity fluctuation
- BENOX? L-40LV can also be used as an initiator for the polymerization of ethylene monomers (e.g., styrene, acrylates, etc.).
Technical data.

Applications.
- BENOX? L-40LV is a low viscosity dispersion and may separate slightly after sitting for a while. However, it can be easily remixed and should be stirred immediately before use.
- During use, rinse spray equipment through isopropyl alcohol, methanol or acetone, then clean with soap and water.
- BENOX? L-40LV is ideally suited for curing acrylic-based road marking coatings.
- To successfully spray BENOX? L-40LV through equipment normally used in MEKP systems, the catalyst delivery system must be modified. Spraying equipment suppliers can recommend appropriate modifications to their equipment.
- Under normal spray equipment operating conditions, BENOX? L-40LV should not be expected to separate and "pack" in the catalyst delivery system. However, when the system is shut down for an extended period of time (i.e., overnight) and there is no scheduled circulation of BENOX? L-40LV, the catalyst section should be depressurized.
Storage.
- Storage at 21°C (70°F) or lower is recommended. Avoid refrigeration.
- Store in original container away from flammable materials and all sources of heat, sparks or flame; away from direct sunlight; away from reducing agents such as amines, strong acids or bases, heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerators and catalysts).
Packaging.
- BENOX? L-40LV is packaged in standard sizes in 20 kg (45 lb) HDPE bottles, or 22.5 kg drums, or 200 kg (440 lb) polyethylene drums. Weights are based on net weight.
